For the 40th Anniversary of International Women’s Year, Future Feminist Archive and the DAAO are discussing ways to recover lost Feminist archives and to imagine the new. This is one of a series of regional symposia and professional development workshops to help investigate the many forms that a Future Feminist Archive might take - real and virtual, activist action!

The venue, BigCi, is a non-profit artist organization. The event will be cost-neutral, but we are asked to pay ten dollars (plus GST) each and to bring our own refreshments.

BigCi, 82 Hanlons Road, Bilpin, NSW. Hanlons Road is off Bells Line of Road (immediately after The Apple Bar).

From Sydney, take Bells Line of Road via Windsor, Richmond, Kurrajong and then Bilpin. Hanlons Rd is on your right after Mountain Lagoon Road.)

Design and Art OnlineDAAO is one of the biggest data research projects in Australian visual culture and you need to make your research visible through it, for yourself or your research or institution.

Your research will contribute to Australia’s leading research and collection institutions. This collaborative e-Research tool and database is built upon the foundations of Joan Kerr’s Dictionary of Australian Artists and Heritage: The National Women’s Art Book and Vivian Johnson’s Dictionary of Western Desert Artists.

This project is a call to arms to help redress the online gender imbalance. Did you know that only 14% of Wikipedia content is about women and only 9% of editors are female? In most Western art galleries and museums, women still comprise only 10 to 17% of the permanent collections.

Places are limited. Bring your research data on a stick or printed / CV and laptop.
