Georgia MacGuire

Georgia MacGuire is a Wurundjeri woman from the Central Goldfields, Victoria, who makes work under the pseudonym blackgin. Blackgin's sculpture practice explores matriarchal lineage and connection to cultural heritage through traditional materials. Blackgin is particularly known for her work using paperbark. Black gin is a founding member of Ngardang Girri Kalat Mimini – meaning Mother Aunty Sister Daughter (NGKM) - a collective of Victorian Indigenous women and trans-diverse artists. She curated their first exhibition at Central Goldfields Art Gallery, Maryborough, Victoria in 2019.

Georgia MacGuire will be showing work in the Care Exhibition Program at The Cross Art Projects, Sydney, supported by Regional Arts Victoria, in 2020.
